Abstract | This paper describes development of a simulation tool which allows proper designing of power plant capacity. This tool helps in designing hybrid power systems which allow the integration of a renewable, unstable, and unpredictable energy source into a power system. Although, the tool is developed to design direct current (DC) systems, it can be used for alternating current (AC) power systems. This tool is developed using SIMULINK, a commonly available computer simulation program. The mathematical model on which this design tool is based, uses local meteorological data and power load profiles as the inputs. The simulation tool allows optimization of power plant capacity. © Sila Science. |
